Moving with the seasons and cycles of life…

One of the most wonderful things about living off-grid or just as close to the land as possible is learning to live with the seasons and cycles of life (and of course our own seasons and cycles too).

Not only is this helpful for circadian health (which regulates every single clock in our body, including mood, sleep, hormones, digestion and so much more.

It’s also supportive of nervous system regulation and resilience and…

It’s supportive of life, every single aspect of living as a human being on this beautiful planet!

The closer to our natural way of living that we can live the easier it is for as a whole.

When living off-grid or just as close to the land as possible you learn to let go of plans and ideas and just move with the changing of the seasons and the days.  You drop everything for the weather, an olive or grape harvest of because a fruit tree is dropping all it’s precious fruits.  If an animal becomes unwell or a wildfire starts or your own cycles changes you quickly change with it or you get overwhelmed.

You learn you are stronger, happier and healthier when you move with things instead of against them.

You stop coming overwhelmed by all that is happening (or not happening how you think it should), becoming more accepting of the way life plays out.

Not everyone is able to live off grid or on the land right now, I get that, but we can all live a little more in unison to our own seasons and cycles and that of the planet.  Resting more as the winter comes around, eating heavier and fattier foods, going to bed earlier, getting up later, going inwards, these are just some of the ways we can be closer to this season of winter coming.  But this may change with our own personal cycle/season throughout the month.  There are times of the month as a woman we ‘winter’ also.  And at those time do you need more warmth?  More comforts?  Less business?

We are human beings, not human doings!  Life is easier when we stop fighting it and our own body.  And with this, life becomes a little more wild and free and maybe we gain a little more wisdom with it.
