These slightly spicy sesame seed nuts are a great little snack or even sprinkled on top of salads and cooked foods.

Ingredients:

200g nuts (I like walnuts and cashews)

2 tbsp. sesame seed oil

1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

1/2 tsp. Himalayan or sea salt

Dried figs, sliced (optional)

Directions:

  1. Soak the nuts for a minimum of 2 hours or overnight if they are harder nuts, like almonds.
  2. Rinse nut and allow to dry slightly on the kitchen side.
  3. Place the nuts in a bowl and drizzle with the oil and mix well.
  4. Sprinkle all the other ingredients on to the nuts and mix well.
  5. Place the nuts on a dehydrator tray and dehydrate at 105 F for 12-14 hours.
  6. Put into a sealed tub and they will keep for a week or more.  At this stage I added some sliced dried figs.
  7. Enjoy!
