Please stop trying to fight cold’s and flu’s.

Like many others I used to think colds, coughs and flus were a bad thing, a thing to be fought, avoided & stopped. I used to think there was something wrong and something to be fixed! However, over the years and me trainings and research in nutrition, herbalism and the body as a whole deepen I realised its the exact opposite!

What we believe to be a cold or the flu is actually the ‘symptoms’ of the body already fighting it. The temperature, runny nose, bad cough, banging head etc is the bodies response to a cold & flu and not the cold & flu itself. These feelings are NOT the cold or flu itself, but the body already naturally fighting it.

The body needs to raise its temperature/sweat, create mucus and cough all the bad stuff up and out to heal. When we humans think we know better than our body we get into trouble!

When we take Lemsips, paracetamol, sugar based ‘medicines’, cold, cough and flu remedies (including many natural ones) and things to bring our temperature down, what we actually do is prevent or at the very least slow down the bodies’ ability to fight off the cold or flu. You then lengthen the time you are unwell by doing this.

The body needs to detox, it needs to eliminate all the bad stuff and heal. In fact, often when we are getting ill all the time and believe it’s because our immune system is weak, it can in fact be that we are just pretty toxic and the body is trying to find a way to release those toxins.

For this reason, colds and flu’s can actually be a really good thing and are often why you feel much better than before you were ill after you have recovered from one.

So, let’s stop thinking we know better than our body and let it do it’s job, let it release those pesky toxins and let it fight those pesky colds and flu’s how it knows best and then you will stop getting ill so much and when you do it will pass by quickly and also as an added bonus you’ll be less toxic too. What super clever bodies we all have!
