Could it be mould?

Are you suffering from some or many of the following?

Multiple sensitivities, fatigue, anxiety &/or depression, brain fog, tingling, heavy limbs, pain (especially headaches), easily dehydrated, digestive issues, possible SIBO, easily picks up infections, allergies, sinus problems, histamine issues, oxalates issues, nutrient deficiencies, sleep disturbances, POTS, Fibromyalgia symptoms, chronic fatigue syndrome, MS type symptoms, food sensitivities, CIRS symptoms, hormonal concerns, issues detoxing, chronic inflammation, candida, difficulty regulating body temperature, Alzheimer type symptoms or memory issues.

I’ve been down many rabbit holes recently and the mould one just keeps getting deeper!

What has become clear to me, is that if you have a number of the above issues and they are not really getting any better (or only a little) that it’s quite likely that the thing that’s fuelling them is a mould issue.  Apparently 1 in 7 of us have this going on!

Why a mould issue?

Because most of us knowingly or unknowingly are/have been living in mouldy houses.  And although many houses are like this, it’s not a healthy way to live.

When I look back, I think almost every house I’ve ever lived in had a mould issue!  I’m not on about a bit of mould around the windows, I’m on about water damage from leaking roofs, pipes, showers, neighbours washing machine etc.  This kind of mould gets into the house and then gets into us and can make it very hard to heal for some normally standard health issues and/or can ramp up the symptoms of them.  I’m fairly certain it’s what’s ramped up my oxalate dumping, but in someone else it might be histamine issue or fatigue or anxiety issues.  And, the complicated thing with this, is it may not be triggered until years later, when (in my case) you start to oxalate dump or you get a spider or tick bite or something similar going on.

This may sound like another thing!  Another thing you have to fix/change/improve.  Another stressor, but actually it’s just about bringing us back into balance again and it does not have to be a big protocol (although for some they may need to do a full 12 weeks of some but never all of the below items).

For me I have noticed a huge shift in just running a HEPA air-purifier with clove oil in it.  The air-purifier itself removes mould and other irritants from the air I am breathing and the clove oil (you can use tea-tree also) kills mould spores in the air. Maybe this is enough for you to fell a shift or maybe you may need to consider a little bit more.

Basically, the way to address most mould issues it to follow an anti-candida approach (if you have recurring candida you almost certainly have a mould issue, but not having candida does not mean no mould issue).

But the important thing as well as natural anti-fungals is taking binders to remove the mould from the body.  Anti-fungals without binders won’t work.  Binders could be zeolites, bentonite clay or charcoals.

Then on top of this consider some of the following but remember if you have mould going on then you are likely sensitive to, to many changes at once.  So, go slow and always start on the min dose and never add to many things in at once (which is why starting just with the air-purifier can be helpful, easy and non-triggering way to start).

  • Thyme, clove or neem tea
  • Daily oral doses of oregano oil and grapefruit seed extract (for 12 weeks max), always starting with the min dose
  • Milk thistle supplementation every night can also be very helpful and bitter herbs (but also only for 12 weeks at a time)
  • Cleaning with clove and tea-tree (never bleach that just pushes mould deeper into your walls and grout and does not kill it)
  • Burning in an oil diffuser with clove or tea-tree oil or if not then thyme and/or oregano oil
  • Air purifier (HEPA)
  • Air dehumidifier for winter months
  • Reduce EMF’s (EMF’s increase mould replication inside you and your home)
  • Reduce carbs/sugars/junk foods/booze
  • Increase fats and proteins
  • Reduce toxins (in skin and hair care and in home cleaning products too)
  • Regulate circadian rhythm (and get sunlight on your body and feet on the earth daily where possible)
  • Regulate your nervous system (stress increases mould replication inside you)

The most important things first…

  • Leave mouldy houses or repair/remove damaged areas
  • Remove furniture/books/fabrics potentially infested with mould from previous homes
  • Clean your air
  • Start with binders

Focus on this before starting any of the rest, these are by far the most important aspects.

I don’t see this as another thing that we need to fix, but rather another way for us to be able to live in union with nature again and not at odds with it.  This isn’t a long-term protocol, but more about cleaning up our body and environment again so we can thrive.  And, unless you notice you are living in mould again you should not need to ever readdress this again!
