Meat Myths Unlearned…

Moving from plant based to animal based can be a challenge, especially as we have been ‘fed’ a lot of nonsense about how animal proteins and fats (which we have consumed for millennia without any issues) now someone effect our health in a negative way!

Here are some of the myths I had to unlearn, not just from 30+ yrs of veggie/vegan beliefs, but also from many years of nutritional training too…

  • Animal fats make you fat (when the opposite is true)
  • Animal fats give you heart attacks & just general heart issues (when the opposite is true)
  • Animal fats are just general just bad for your health
  • Margarine (seed oils) are better for you than animal fats (this one is mental)
  • Red meat is really hard to digest and can sit in your digestive system for weeks (also totally bonkers)
  • Meat causes inflammation
  • Meat is toxic in the body!
  • Many plants contain similar nutritional properties to animal fats and proteins
  • That animals, especially cows are causing an environmental sh#t-storm (this doesn’t even make sense anymore)
  • That farm animals are not needed and not actually regenerating the soil and the eco system
  • That carbs, especially is brown carbs are good for us and helpful for our health
  • That oxalate poisoning is a real thing!
  • That soya-based products (beans, tofu, sauce etc) are good for us
  • That we can thrive without animal proteins and fats
  • That it is possible to reverse mental & physical ‘incurable’ illnesses with my ancestral dietary choices
  • That we support can support our nervous system through more ancestral dietary choices
  • That it is possible to have a healthy relationship with food & your body again (after a lifetime of the opposite), even eating TONS of calories, fats and apparently ‘unhealthy’ foods and feel truly amazing mentally and physically!
  • That synthetic fabrics are better for us and the environment than natural fabrics created by or from animals.
