The Journey…

Just over 8 years ago I had just returned from my 500m/800km pilgrimage along the French route of the Camino de Santiago. I walked this distance in 24 days, my last day completing 52km in one day.

I share this not to brag but to share the journey that got me to this point.  Only a handful of years previous to this I was housebound and more often than not bedbound. For 6.5yrs I struggled with CFS/FM and a whole host of other health ailments.

I thought for much of that time unwell that I would never recover, that I was stuck in bed forever, because that’s what ‘professionals’ had told me… repeatedly! That is was only possible to manage the symptoms of CFS/FM and not to recover fully from it.

Thankfully this is a load of nonsense!

Once I started researching these illnesses I realised many people recover every day and I was determined from then on in I would too.

Don’t let anyone tell you that they know better what’s happening in your body than you. Don’t believe anyone that you cannot recover from whatever illness you have. Every day all over the World people are recovering from even ‘terminal’ illnesses.

I am not in remission (which is the way they explain away recoveries), I am fully healed. The strength, Camino, walking many mountains and daily life on the farm all prove this. And you can be too!

The body, mind and nervous system are truly amazing things, they are designed to protect us and they want to us to be well and safe. When we understand this and stop fighting them and life in general amazing things can happen.

There are heaps of free resources here on my website and on my YouTube channel ( here ) so if you are in need of any inspiration do check these out.

For me, i feel the call of the Camino again this spring, but maybe the Portuguese route from my home!
