I love this super simple, super healthy probiotic fermented mustard recipe!
Ingredients:
Whole mustard seeds
Kombucha (to cover)
2 Garlic cloves
1 heap tsp Turmeric
1/2 tsp paprika
1-2 tbsp of lemon or lime juice (to taste)
1 tsp Himalayan Salt or Sea-Salt
Directions:
1. Fill a glass jar half full of mustard seeds.
2. Add salt and garlic.
3. Cover mustard seeds with kombucha tea and then add at least another inch of kombucha on top of this.
4. Cover the jar with some muslin and an elastic band.
5. Check the seeds after a few days and make sure there is still excess kombucha tea above the seeds, if not add a little more as the seeds will continue to swell.
6. After about two weeks the seeds will be soft and ready to blend.
7. Add everything in the jar to the blender (and there is not very much liquid you may want to add a little more kombucha). 8. Add the turmeric, paprika and lemon/lime and blend the whole lot until smooth and than put into a jar.
8. Use straight away or leave in the fridge and use over the next couple of months.
This is packed full of probiotics, will help heal the digestive system and improve the immune and hormonal systems, as well as adding some yumminess to every meal.
