Elderflower season is one of my favourite seasons! It came to an end here about a month or more ago, but I have enough goodies made with it to last many months after.  Here are some of the reasons (other than it’s amazing taste) why I love elderflowers…

  1. Immune boosting
  2. Supports a healthy blood supply
  3. Reduces for fever
  4. Anti-inflammatory
  5. Reduces joint pain
  6. Great for the skin if used topically
  7. Detoxifier
  8. Excellent at helping support you with bronchitis, coughs, colds, flu, shortness of breath, swelling of the nasal cavity and sinuses
  9. Helpful for diabetes
  10. Reduces constipation
  11. Increase urination (as diuretic)
  12. Promotes sweating
  13. Reduces bleeding
  14. Soothes eye issues
  15. Reduced free radicals in the body, which damage cells
  16. Helps protect against cardiovascular disease
  17. Can be used as a mouthwash, tea, syrup, cold or hot water infusion, in creams, topically or internally and to flavour Kombucha (my favourite) with.
